A Garden in the Redwoods
Mill Valley, CA
On a site constrained by steep slopes, a seasonal creek and limited useable flat area, our task was to create a garden with spaces for gathering and play. We worked with the land to create a terraced edible landscape in the one sunny spot. The seasonal creek was transformed from a concrete lined ditch into a natural feature as boulder-hopping exploration zone. And to maximize to opportunities for play, we added a sport court in the shade near the existing deck. Native plants anchor the hillsides and make for a soothing entry and setting for this woodland home.
